Here is an update on what each of us has been down with or up to:
Davey Latter (drums, percussion): Well first off, I sure miss my boys!! What I've been up to. I'm super excited about my new rehearsal space. Been goin' in there a lot. Any free time, some woodshedding. Also, I've been giving tons and tons of surf lessons, tryin' to pay some bills and rent. Also, I've been hired to go to Lollapalloza to work for Dhani Harrison's band "The New#2." I've been asked to tech for The Cult, but it runs into Everest tour and recording. That's ok, would obviously rather play. Just a good way to make some dough, in between. Drummin, surfin, teachin. My summertime.
Jason Soda (guitars, keys, vocals): Gambling can be bad! As soon as we got off tour I rushed off to finish mixing a record I had produced for a band called The Whispering Pines. In between that project and then a record that Russ and I produced for The Watson Twins...there were about 3 1/2 weeks that have become a permanent vision, you could say..."Del Scorched", into my brain. I somehow found myself spending most of those 3 1/2 weeks being held in, what some might call a pitiful excuse for a jail cell but nevertheless, as far as what the surrounding towns and villages can provide, a jail in one sense or another is a valid enough title. The hole in question is in a small town called Rancho de Mis Recuerdos. Drive 25 kilometers west of Mexicali and you'll hit it. Or if you're not careful, it'll hit you. Without getting into great detail, as soon as my friends returned home, they had to sell 3 of my guitars in order to pay my "bail". I think in hind sight, it's best to ignore the impulses one has that can possibly get one self into trouble. Trying to use one's half ass bilingual skills to order a burrito at the local taco stand is one thing but thinking it's gonna be enough to get you through a long night of Texas Hold em' (Mexican Style)...is something altogether different.
Russell Pollard (vocals, guitar): I learned to raise hybrid chickens, not the "eating" kind. They just look pretty and you can take them with you on errands. Look them up. http://www.freewebs.com/happy_hens/chickpictures.htm.
Joel Graves (guitar, vocals): Exploration summer... Practicing. Reaching out. Failing. Learning. AZ sun at Howe homE. AK midnight sun with Delicious Dave and The Acid King. "It was very difficult to catch rides in the Yukon Territory." Truth. Deneki, An Alaskan Moose. California Stars. Ready to record LP2 under cover of Fall. Ideas spring forth from The Well...
Eli Thomson (bass, vocals): [Could not be reached for comment. Rumored to be filling the sizable void left by Kurt Rambis within Phil Jackson's brain trust. Also rumored to be with Bo Koster in Marin County, recording Delta Spirit.]
